Featured placements

Projects can bid for a slot in the carousel at the top of the homepage. Slots are handed out by a daily lottery where your odds are proportional to your bid. You are only charged on days you are actually shown — losing a draw costs nothing. This page explains how the draw works, how to buy a slot, and how to check the draw was fair.

How the carousel is filled

The carousel has six slots, of which up to four can be bought. Once a day, just after midnight UTC, the whole set is drawn at once and fixed for the day. Paid placements are drawn first; the rest are filled automatically, so the section always looks deliberate — and never goes entirely paid.

One draw a day decides the whole carousel, and the result is fixed until the next draw.
Paid slots carry a small megaphone icon. Every one is also listed in the draw history with its bid and the block that drew it, so you can see exactly what was bought and what wasn't.

The lottery, and what your bid buys

Slots are not sold to the highest bidder. Your bid buys odds: if your bid is a quarter of everything bid that day, you have roughly a one-in-four chance of each of the four sellable slots. That keeps the section reachable for smaller projects instead of letting the same few wallets own it permanently.

Bid twice as much, win roughly twice as often — and pay twice as much on the days you win.

The draw itself is seeded by the Algorand block seed of the first round after midnight UTC. That number is fixed by the chain before anyone looks at it, so the day's result can't be re-rolled by waiting for a friendlier outcome.

Where you appear

Winning a slot doesn't fix you to a position for the day. The order of the carousel is re-rolled on every page view. Paid placements always occupy the front of the row, ordered among themselves in linear proportion to their bids — bid double what another slot did and you lead twice as often — but every paid slot gets time at the front.

This exists because of small screens. On a phone barely one card is visible, so a fixed order would mean whoever landed third saw almost no exposure all day, however much they paid. Re-rolling spreads that around.

Unpaid picks always sit behind the paid placements, shuffled among themselves — they never take the front position from a slot somebody paid for.

The reordering is cosmetic and happens in your browser — it is not part of the draw and isn't recorded. What is recorded, and verifiable, is who won a slot and what they paid.

Credits, and when you're charged

You pre-load credits by sending ALGO to the platform treasury, then set a daily bid. Credits are only spent on days you actually appear.

Credits are deducted at the moment a slot is awarded, never before. Days you aren't drawn cost nothing.

Each payment is credited exactly once, keyed on its transaction id — so if a claim is retried, or you paste the same transaction twice, you are never double-charged and never double-credited. Credits don't expire, and unspent credits simply roll into the next day.

Setting up a placement

Featured placements are a creator tool, available on verified collections to the wallet that owns them.

  1. 1
Open your collection in Creator Tools
Connect the creator wallet, go to /creator, pick the collection, and choose Featured Placement.
  2. 2
    Top up your credits
Enter an amount and confirm the payment in your wallet. It's credited as soon as the transaction confirms. If something goes wrong after you've paid, the transaction id stays on screen with a retry — and there's a box to paste a transaction id in later if you ever need it.
  3. 3
    Set your daily bid
The page shows your estimated chance of a slot in the next draw, and updates as you type — so you can see what a change buys before committing to it. You can also set an optional total budget and an end date.
  4. 4
    Leave it running
Your campaign enters every draw until you pause it, the end date passes, the budget is spent, or your credits run out. Nothing needs approving.
One campaign per collection. Pausing stops it entering draws immediately and costs nothing while paused.

Budgets and limits

There are two separate ceilings, and whichever you hit first stops the spend:

  • Your credit balance covers everything you run. If it can't cover a day's bid, that campaign sits out the draw until you top up.
  • A campaign's total budget is optional and caps that one placement for its lifetime. Once spent, it stops entering draws even if you still have credits for other collections.

There's also a minimum daily bid, so the section can't be bought for dust. The current minimum is shown on the placement page.

Checking the draw was fair

Because your bid buys odds rather than a guaranteed slot, the draw is published so you don't have to take our word for it. Each day's carousel records the Algorand round whose block seed drove it. Anyone can fetch that block, re-run the same weighted draw over the day's bids, and confirm the winners match what was actually shown.

Browse the draw history to see every recent draw with its full field, and replay any of them in your browser.

The mechanism is the same one used for raffles — chain-provided randomness that nobody, including us, can pick after the fact.
